Almost My Eleventh "Rebirthday" - a Giveaway Celebration!

35K in 28 days

9914 / 35000 words. 28% done!

Time flies!

On February 17, 1999, I was reading through the book of Isaiah, and finally realized that Jesus was THE Suffering Servant. It was on that day that I humbled my heart and asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior--to save me from my sins. Raised in the Jewish faith, I finally realized that the Messiah HAD come.

What better reason to celebrate? Firstly, if you would like to read a bit longer version of my salvation testimony, along with some of the changes that have happened in my life since that day, check out my salvation anniversary post from last year.

But you're here for the giveaway, right? Well, it's a pretty big one--at least as far as MY giveaways have been. I will be giving away three - yes, I said THREE - different books. I truly love each of them (and NOT just because I am a contributing author to each one!).

And now, without further ado: the PRIZES!

Delivered, a Peculiar People Collaboration is the book that has most recently come out. I just gave away a copy of this one last month. If you want more information about it you can click here or here.

Women of Passions; Ordinary Women Serving an Extraordinary God is a collection of women's testimonies of God's power, put out by Heart of God International. This book includes an expanded version of my salvation testimony, along with dozens of other incredible stories by amazing women of God. For more information on this book, click here.

Hidden in the Hymns, is a Faithwriters' Writing Challenge anthology. Those of you who know even a little about me likely realize that I am a FaithWriters' junkie (and promotion hound LOL). This book has 100 stories selected as the best of this particular quarter of the Writing Challenge. It happens to include my very first Editor's Choice, a silly little piece I called "If Corn Had Ears." (The other stuff in here is even BETTER, by the way. MUCH so!

SSO those are the prizes. How do you win, you ask?? Well, since this celebrates my spiritual birthday, I figure the contest should be spiritual in some way, yes? So here are the rules:

To enter, you need to leave a comment on this post with either a BRIEF summary of your salvation testimony, or a favorite verse. If you wish to do both, that is fine. (one entry for each - up to two per person)
Also, if you own one of these books already, or have a certain one you would RATHER have than the others, include that in your post as well. I can't make any promises, but I'll do the best I can.

You have until TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16 at midnight to enter. I will announce the winners on my actual rebirthday - February 17.

Thanks for playing along. I look forward to checking out your verses, and hearing how you came to Christ!

Paving Rough Roads With God's Presence

  1. I made a decision for Christ as a young girl...just 9 years old. But I fully committed myself to the Lord after going through a difficult time of loss around my 21st birthday. I remember sitting on my bed and praying like Jesus was sitting right beside me! And He's been beside me every day since then!

  3. Isaiah 40:31

"but they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint."

  4. I grew up in a Christian home and a baptist Church (still have the certificate from the Cradle Roll to prove it!). But it wasn't until I was 11 years old that I realized that my decision to follow Christ had to be a personal one. I accepted the Lord as my Saviour at a children's meeting. Oddly enough (perhaps partly because of the kind of church I grew up in) I knew God was calling me to be a missionary overseas when I was nine! Isn't he great.

Matthew 6:33 has been my life verse closely followed in more recent years by Jeremiah 29:11.

  7. JO, I love your testimony of salvation. I was saved at age 6. I wish I knew the day. One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 26:3 "Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee."

    (I hope I win "Deliverance" !!)

  8. My favorite verse since I was in 5th grade, has to be Romans 12:1-2. As a Christian, it's the perfect picture of making Christ our focus and modeling our own thinking after that of our holy Creator. It tells us what are relationship should be to the world, but it is a hard balance to maintain.

My salvation story is this: I grew up with moral parents, but I do remember about 3rd grade, my mom became saved and we started going to church. So, I grew up learning the gospel and very familiar with Bible stories. It was on Mothers Day one year that it finally sunk in and I asked my mom to pray with me that night as she tucked me into bed. I think I was 9 and she told me that it was the best Mother's Day Gift ever :)

PS: I hope to win Delivered!! ;)

"So we don't look at the troubles we have now, rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever." 2 Cor. 4:18
